The Alabama Department of Public Safety reports an average of 112,000 vehicle accidents in our state every year. There are about 300 automobile accidents in Alabama every day. There is a great need for auto body repair technicians in all parts of the United States.

A Wallace State graduate in Auto Body Repair has the opportunity to earn excellent wages, utilize the most modern technology, and work in a growing and challenging field. As automobiles become more technically advanced, the demand for experienced body technicians with training in new technologies, especially in fiber glass and plastics used in the construction of modern automobiles, will increase even more dramatically. Graduates in this field also find work as claims adjustors in the insurance industry.

The Wallace State Auto Body curriculum is designed to train students to repair and replace damaged auto bodies and auto body parts. A student learns to examine damaged automobiles and figure repair estimates.

The success and growth of the Auto Body Repair Program at Wallace State is due to excellent job placement record. The department receives requests for employees almost daily. High demand has helped to keep wages high in the auto body repair field. Wallace State Auto Body Repair graduates have no problem finding good paying jobs. Most graduates receive pay raises within six weeks on the job. Wallace State graduates are thoroughly trained so their work meets the standards of a commercial body shop.
