Wallace State Softball Team Sweeps Calhoun



ATHENS, Ala.- The Wallace State-Hanceville softball team picked up two
big wins against conference opponent Calhoun Community College on
Saturday. The team took the first game 13-0, and they won the second
5-0.



Brooke Allgood pitched all seven innings of the first game for Wallace.
She struck out 13 and allowed only six hits in her win.



Courtney Underwood recorded a triple for Wallace after going 1-for-3 at
the plate. She also scored two runs and had two RBIs. Rachel Baucom was
2-of-5 at the plate with a double, single and three RBIs. She also
scored one run, while Sarah Wilson hit 2-of-2 with another double,
single, three more RBIs and two runs.


Allgood went 2-of-4 with a double, single, two runs scored and an RBI,
and Hannah Strength added another double and a single as well as two
RBIs. Delaina Franklin hit two singles and scored two runs while Ashley
Pratt swung for two more singles and scored two runs as well. Lindsey
McDaniel scored one run and had an RBI while hitting two singles.



Holli Hill got the win for the Lady Lions in the second game after
pitching all seven innings and striking out twelve batters. She allowed
only four hits.



Amanda Rogers was 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles, a single, two
runs scored and two RBIs. Allgood added another double, two singles and
an RBI as she went 3-of-3 as well.

Lacy Kerr was 2-for-2 with two singles and an RBI, and Underwood added a
single and scored a run. McDaniel was 1-for-3 with a single and two runs
scored, while Wilson hit another single and had an RBI.



The Lady Lions (48-9, 7-3 ACCC) will face Northwest Shoals today at 2
and 4 p.m. They will be at home again Tuesday against Snead State at 1
and 3 p.m.
