Wallace State Alumni Association Accepting Applications for 2007-2008
Scholarships



Hanceville, Ala.--The Wallace State Alumni Association will award four
$500 scholarships for the 2007-2008 academic year and four $250
scholarships for Summer 2007.



These Alumni Scholarships are open to students enrolled in any Wallace
State program of study. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 24
semester hours of coursework at Wallace State and have at least a 2.5
GPA. Applicants must be full-time students at the time of application
and maintain at least half-time status to retain the scholarship. A
500-word essay is required and letters of recommendation are encouraged.



Scholarship recipients must commit to volunteering in the Alumni Office
during the semester to assist with alumni activities.



The application deadline for the 2007-2008 Alumni Scholarship is Friday,
May 11, 2007. The application deadline for the Summer 2007 Alumni
Scholarship is May 20.



The Alumni Association will also award one $500 Ozell Hinkle Benefactor
Scholarship in honor of the longtime member and officer of the Wallace
State Alumni Association and avid supporter of the college.



An applicant for the Ozell Hinkle Benefactor Scholarship must be a
dependent of a 2006-2007 Wallace State Alumni Association member, have a
GPA of at least 2.5, and demonstrate involvement in community and school
activities.



The application deadline for the Hinkle scholarship is Friday, June 8.



All Wallace State Alumni Association scholarship application forms are
available in the Wallace State Alumni Office on the 10th floor of the
James C. Bailey Center or by visiting the Alumni website at
www.wallacestate.edu/alumni.
