Wallace Students Named to All-Alabama Academic Team
HANCEVILLE, Ala.- Jamie Manning and Dustin Hampton have been selected to the Alabama College System's All-Alabama Academic team. Both students will been awarded a $500 scholarship to an Alabama college or university of their choice.
 Jamie Manning
Manning, from Empire, graduated from Wallace State this May. He was a starting pitcher for the Wallace State Lions baseball team his freshman and sophomore years while earning academic honors as a member of Phi Theta Kappa. He has accepted an athletic and academic scholarship to the University of Alabama where he will continue his baseball career while majoring in construction engineering.
 Dustin Hampton
Hampton, from Vinemont, also graduated from Wallace State in May. He attended Wallace State on a technical scholarship and became a leader on campus as a member of Phi Theta Kappa and officer in the Student Government Association. This year he received the electronics program award and the President's Star Achiever Award. Hampton plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in technology.
The All-Alabama Academic Team is comprised of the top 48 students in two-year colleges in Alabama. The All-Alabama Academic Team scholarship program is a state-level complement to the All-American Academic Team sponsored by USA Today, Phi Theta Kappa and the American Association of Community Colleges.
