Wallace State Student Nominated for Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship
HANCEVILLE, Ala.- Wallace State-Hanceville student Kevin Edmondson of Cullman has been selected as nominee for the 2007 Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship.
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation offers full scholarships to outstanding students with financial need who are transferring from two-year schools to four-year institutions to pursue a bachelor's degree. Scholarship awards may be used for tuition, books, fees and living expenses at the students' transfer institution. Winners will receive up to $30,000 per year per student to cover two years of tuition and expenses at a college or university.
Edmondson is a member Wallace State's Phi Theta Kappa honor society and has been named Who's Who Among American Junior College Students. He is active in campus activities such as intramural sports and his community service includes volunteering as a boys' basketball coach in Cullman. Edmondson will be attending the University of Alabama at Huntsville this fall where he plans to major in civil engineering.
