Research your family history using the Internet. Learn where the best resources are located and what to avoid. Bring a few examples of items that have stumped you and see if you can find the answers in class.

HIS 282 Genealogical Research I

This is a beginning course in the techniques of genealogical research. It assumes that students enrolled have little or no prior training in genealogy and it is primarily a lecture course. This class is also offered as a video course.

HIS 283 Genealogical Research II

This is an advanced course in the techniques of genealogical research.

HIS 284 Writing Family History and Book Publishing

This is an advanced course in writing family history and genealogy.

HIS 285 Southern Research

This is an advanced course in the techniques of genealogical research.

HIS 299 Directed Reading in History

Independent study by video in genealogy.

   Curriculum subject to revision based on job market changes and/or academic requirements.

   Wallace State is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate in Applied Science Degree, and Associate in Arts Degree. Many academic programs have additional accreditation from organizations appropriate to the particular discipline involved.
