Health Information is one the fastest growing fields in allied health. Demand for qualified health information professionals is steadily growing and it is predicted that this trend will continue well into the 21st century.
Online courses are available now. HIT courses will be offered as an online option in addition to our traditional courses on campus. Professional Practice experience courses (clinical) are completed in health care facilities, therefore are not online.
We are one of only two accredited HIT programs in the state of Alabama. You must graduate from an accredited program in order to qualify to take the national exam to become a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
