Procedures and Requirements for Admission
Applicants must meet all the requirements below to be considered eligible for acceptance into the Health Care Information Programs. Applicants must:
- Meet all the general education requirements of WSCC.
- Submit an application to the Admissions Office, declaring a Health Care Information Program as major. Students will be accepted until June 15. Applications received after June 15 will be considered on a space available basis.
- Submit an *HCI Program application to the HCI Program Director. Attach copies of transcripts from high school as well as other institutions attended.
- Possess a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Submit ACT score to Admissions Office by June 15 (Health Information Technology only).
- Arrange for an interview with the HCI Program Director before admission into the program. Failure to do so will result in withdrawal of the application.
- Carry accident insurance and malpractice insurance, available through the college.
A completed physical examination form must be submitted prior to placement at a clinical site. HIT students must submit an HCI physical exam form by October 1 of their first semester in the program.
