State
High School Cheerleading Champions
HANCEVILLE,
AL-- Varsity squads from Reeltown, Sand Rock, Glencoe,
Rogers, Boaz, Buckhorn, Vestavia Hills, Sparkman and Austin
high schools were declared AHSAA State Cheerleading Champions
in competition held Saturday at Wallace State College
in Hanceville.
Over
800 cheerleaders from 64 schools participated in the sixth
annual event administered by the Universal Cheerleaders
Association. The largest field of competition in event
history went through the competition routines before over
2,200 fans.
Reeltown,
Boaz and Vestavia Hills repeated as champions.

The
Alabama Junior Classic for junior high, freshman and junior
varsity teams was held in conjunction with the state championships.
