WSCC Alumni Association Accepting Applications for 2006-2007 Scholarships

HANCEVILLE, AL-- The Wallace State Alumni Association will award four $500 scholarships for the 2006-2007 academic year.

   The Alumni scholarship is open to students enrolled in any Wallace State program. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours of coursework at Wallace State and have at least a 2.5 GPA. They must be full-time students at the time of application and maintain at least half-time status to retain the scholarship. A letter of recommendation from the student’s advisor and a 500-word essay are also required.

   Scholarship recipients are required to volunteer in the Alumni Office once per month during the year to assist with alumni activities.

   The following students received Alumni scholarships for the summer semester: Deniseia Bailey of Hanceville, Savannah Swearengin of Decatur, Natasha Smith of Bremen, Tiffany Greeson of Ider and Magen Simmons of Eva.

   Applications may be obtained from the Wallace State Alumni Office on the 10th floor of the James C. Bailey Center or by visiting the Alumni web site at www.wallacestate.edu/alumni.
