OTA Faulkner State
Wallace State Community College is proud to announce a partnership in OTA education with Faulkner State - Bay Minette Campus. This unique partnership combines a team approach to learning with the latest in instructional technology to provide OTA education at Faulkner State. In order to offer a learning centered curriculum, teaching strategies will include on-site instruction as well as online courses and videoconferencing.
Upon completion of the OTA Program, students will receive an Associate in Applied Science degree from Wallace State Community College. Students will then be qualified (post accreditation of Faulkner State instructional site) to complete the national certification examination. Successful completion of this exam is required to obtain a license from the state regulatory board to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
The Faulkner State instructional site is currently under development and is in the process of obtaining ACOTE accreditation. In order for the graduation students to be qualified to sit for the NBCOT certification examination the new location will be required to obtain accreditation.
