Come to Study - Stay to Learn

Students using the computer lab.   Visit the Learning Success Center—a free resource—to improve your academic skills. Our mission is to provide resources, support, and services to assist students in the acquisition of information and development of skills to achieve his or her academic potential.

Open Computer Lab
   The computer lab offers students a quiet environment in which to access the Internet for research purposes, to use with online courses, or to check student email. Software packages are also available for self-paced tutoring in a variety of subjects.
 

Tutoring Lab
   The tutoring lab offers live tutors daily for reading, math, English, and other subjects by appointment. Online and computer- assisted tutoring is also available in a variety of subjects.
 

Individual or Group studyingIndividual or Group Study Areas
   If you are searching for a quiet place to study, we provide that environment. The Center offers areas for individual study or a group room for those in study groups or working on group projects. There are also computers, a television, and a VCR available for individual or group use.
 

Student Support Services (www.wallacestate.edu/sss)
   Student Support Services is a US Department of Education TRIO program that strives to assist students who are low-income, first generation college students, and/or disabled. Services include academic advising, career counseling, financial aid counseling, transfer counseling, four-year college visits, and academic tutoring.
 

Adult Education (www.wallacestate.edu/ academics/ adulteducation.html)
   The Adult Education Program offers basic academic instruction and workforce training. Classes are open to the public and to college students. Services provided by the program include:

    
  • GED preparation classes;
  • Self-paced instruction with a highly qualified instructor;
  • Access to a computer lab with Aztec, Plato, and WIN software;
  • Computerized preparation for the GED, Compass, WorkKeys, and
    ASVAB examinations;
  • Employability skills training;
  • Personalized career training.

   Classes are offered during day or evening hours at on and off-campus locations.
