Welding Technology offers
a guide to skills and knowledge in the safe operation
of the following: oxyacetylene flame cutting; plasma
cutting; welding and brazing equipment; electric
arc welding equipment for shielded metal arc, gas
metal arc, flux-core arc welding, and gas Tungsten
arc welding equipment. Safety and performance are
foremost and are stressed throughout the program.
All position welding is included, with a major emphasis
on out-of-position welding and performance testing.
Also included in referenced texts as related instruction
are electrode classification, chemical and physical
structure of metals, joint design, methods of testing,
welding procedures, welder qualifications, welding
codes and specifications, blueprint reading, and
basic layout. Passage of The American Welding Society
Test is required for graduation. |
