Wallace State defeats Southern Union 102-69

Hanceville, AL — After two on-the-road losses to Coastal Alabama-South and Lawson State, Wallace State’s men’s basketball showed no mercy to Southern Union during a 102-69 victory at Traditions Bank Arena in Tom Drake Coliseum.

Freshman guard Jimmie Williams led the way with a 32-point game, completing 6 of 9 three-pointers and 6 of 6 free throws. Freshman guard Jalen Carruth wasn't far behind, contributing 19 points of his own, including four three-pointers that kept the scoreboard ticking.

Sophomore center PJ Eason provided a solid presence in the paint, grabbing crucial rebounds and adding five points to the scoreboard. Sophomore guard Kelvin Turner scored four three-pointers for 12 points in the game and freshman Kami Young made two three-pointers for six points.

Coming off the bench, freshman guards Kendarius Anderson brought in 20 points – 18 from three-pointers - and Authur Johnson contributed eight points.

The win puts the Lions up to 21-8 for the season.
