Wallace State Lady Lions Defeat Bishop State in NJCAA South District Semifinal, 62-59
Hanceville, AL — In a high energy matchup, the Wallace State Community College Women’s Basketball team secured a hard-fought 62-59 victory over Bishop State Community College in the NJCAA South District Semifinal. The game was held on March 8 at Spragins Hall on the campus of the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Kallie Tinker of Pisgah led Wallace State's offensive charge with 21 points, showcasing her prowess from beyond the arc with four three-pointers. Jaden Winfrey of Cullman contributed 16 points and displayed resilience in key moments throughout the game. Emariah Grant of Huntsville added 13 points, demonstrating versatility on both ends of the floor, while Nylaa Fuller of Huntsville and her rebounding efforts earned the team nine points and 10 rebounds.
Ella Collum of Cullman played solid defense and her two critical assists were instrumental in Wallace State's victory, while Layla Etchison of Hoover hustled on the court, providing valuable contributions.
Despite facing a determined opponent, Wallace State showed composure and determination, rallying from behind to secure the win. With this win, Wallace State advances to the next stage of the tournament against Shelton State Community College.
