Wallace State Softball Triumphs 19-11 over Snead State in Game 2 of Conference Doubleheader
Hanceville, AL — During the second game of a conference doubleheader, Wallace State Community College's softball team secured a 19-11 victory over Snead State Community College on March 10, 2024 at the Lady Parsons Softball Field.
Wallace State capitalized on key offensive opportunities throughout the game. Laura Leigh Wheeler, Brandy Phillips and Jessie Taylor set the tone early, demonstrating precision at the plate. Wheeler's leadoff double paved the way for a stellar offensive showcase, with Phillips and Taylor adding crucial RBIs to the scoreboard.
Bayleigh Rouse showcased her prowess, tallying four hits and contributing to the team's offensive upper hand. Rouse's efforts were complemented by Jadyn Foster, Tessa Word and Haley Hollyhand, who each delivered hits and RBIs during critical junctures of the game.
Despite Snead State's resilient efforts, Wallace State's offensive firepower proved too much to handle. The team's cohesive play, coupled with strategic base running and disciplined hitting, secured their victory.
On the defensive end, pitcher Amelia Sherrill displayed poise and control, effectively neutralizing Snead State's lineup. Sherrill's performance, combined with solid defensive efforts from the entire team, ensured Wallace State maintained their lead throughout the game.
