Wallace State Women’s Basketball Dominates Southern Crescent Technical College in 81-30 Victory
HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The Wallace State Community College Women’s Basketball team delivered
a commanding performance on Saturday, defeating Southern Crescent Technical College
81-30.
The Lady Lions (2-0) showcased their depth and team chemistry, with five players scoring
in double figures. Sophomore forward Sinaya Gibson led the way with 17 points and
13 rebounds, notching a double-double in her standout effort. Freshman guard Idaysia
Mercer added 15 points, four steals, and seven assists, energizing the team off the
bench.
Freshman guard Kallie Tinker contributed 14 points, connecting on four three-pointers,
while freshman guard Heather Tetro scored 11 points and dished out three assists.
Freshman Emma Stearns also shone, adding 12 points and five rebounds.
Defensively, Wallace State stifled Southern Crescent, holding them to just 20 percent
shooting from the field and forcing 15 turnovers. The Lady Lions controlled the boards
with 56 rebounds compared to Southern Crescent’s 34, demonstrating their dominance
in the paint.
