Wallace State Beats Reid State Technical College 82-79
Wallace State Community College triumphed over Reid State Technical College, securing
an 82-79 victory at Traditions Bank Arena in the Tom Drake Arena on Friday evening.
The win showcased the Lions' resilience and clutch performances as they overcame a
tied halftime score.
Sophomore guard Kami Young led Wallace State with 19 points, including three three-pointers
and a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line, while dishing out six assists. Forward
Antonio Cochran dominated inside with 17 points and nine rebounds, contributing crucial
free throws to seal the game.
Sophomore guard Kendarius Anderson added 15 points and five rebounds, while center
Christian Thompson recorded a strong presence in the paint with 10 points and eight
rebounds. Freshman Josh Paige chipped in with 12 points, going 6-for-6 from the charity
stripe.
Wallace State capitalized on their opportunities at the line, shooting an impressive
83.3 percent (30-for-36) in free throws. The Lions' defensive intensity also stood
out, forcing 16 turnovers and holding Reid State to a 33.3 percent shooting performance
from beyond the arc.
