Charli Kyser's Two Home Runs and Four RBIs Leads Lions Softball Past Snead State

Wallace State rebounded from their loss yesterday to eliminate Snead State 6-0 in the loser’s bracket of the ACCC Div I Softball Championships. Wallace State improves to 47-12 while Snead State ends their season at 28-32.
The Lions will play later today against the winner of Coastal Alabama-South and Calhoun.

Wallace State took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning when Charli Kyser hit a home run to center field.
The Lions added to their lead in the third, scoring four runs to extend the lead to 5-0. The first run came on an Ashlyn Burns home run to left field. Tinayja Thomas and Kaelyn Jones had back-to-back singles. After Brandy Phillips’ sacrifice bunt moved Thomas and Jones to second and third, Kyser hit her second home run to clear the bases.
They added one final run in the bottom of the fifth when Leah Graves’ single drove home Brooklyn Sertell for a 6-0 lead.
Phillips was a dominant force in the circle as she held Snead State to five hits, striking out six in her complete game shutout.
Kyser finished 3-of-4 with two home runs, four RBIs, and two runs scored. Jones and Sertell both had two hits and scored a run. Graves added two hits and an RBI.
