Wallace State Women’s Basketball Ranked No. 15 in NJCAA DI Preseason Poll

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The Wallace State women’s basketball program will open the 2025-26 season nationally recognized, earning the No. 15 spot in the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Rankings. The Lions are one of only two Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) teams in the poll, joining No. 2 Shelton State.
Wallace State is coming off a historic 2024-25 campaign in which they finished 29-5, captured the ACCC Tournament championship, and advanced to the second round of the NJCAA National Tournament. Head coach Joseph Simmons’s squad returns a strong core, including four players who saw significant minutes last season along with two key contributors returning from injury.
“This ranking is a testament to the work our returning players have put in and the tradition of excellence our program has established,” Simmons said. “We’re excited to build on last year’s success and compete on the national stage again.”
The Lions will tip off the new season on October 31 when they travel to Columbia State (Tenn.) for their opener.
