BOAZ, Ala. — Wallace State men's basketball came up short on the road Monday night, falling 95-83 to Snead State despite a late rally in the second half.

The Lions struggled to find their footing early and trailed 53-36 at halftime. Snead State maintained control throughout much of the second half and built its largest lead at 94-75 at the under-four-minute timeout. Wallace State closed the game on an 8-1 run to trim the final margin to 12 points, but the late push wasn't enough to overcome the early deficit.

Jaeden Rush led the Lions with a strong all-around performance, posting 23 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals. Tyson Barrett followed with 16 points, five rebounds and a steal. Zay Madden recorded a double-double with nine points, 11 rebounds, an assist and two blocks.

Trey Knight added nine points, six assists, two steals and two rebounds, while Sawyer Griffin, Trey Wilson and Devan Rush each chipped in six points. Hunter Shredrick finished with three points, three rebounds and an assist, Kohl Key added three points, and AJ Davenport contributed two points and three rebounds.

Five of Wallace State's six losses this season have now come against teams that have been nationally ranked at some point during the year.

Wallace State falls to 5-6 on the season and returns to action next Tuesday when the Lions travel to Northeast Mississippi for a 2 p.m. tip.
