No. 13 Wallace State Women Roll Past Motlow State, 79–41

The 13th-ranked Wallace State women's basketball team continued its dominant start to the season Thursday night, cruising to a 79-41 home victory over Motlow State at Traditions Bank Arena.

Wallace State (10-0) pulled away gradually before overwhelming the Lady Bucks down the stretch. The Lions led 12-7 after the first quarter and carried a 36-22 advantage into halftime. After extending the lead to 52-31 heading into the final period, Wallace State put the game away by outscoring Motlow 27-10 in the fourth quarter.

Defense once again set the tone for the Lions, who held Motlow State to 31 points below its season scoring average, forcing tough shots and limiting second-chance opportunities throughout the night.

Leah Childress led Wallace State with 15 points, adding four rebounds and two steals. Sinaya Gibson followed with 14 points and seven rebounds, while Kameron Sanders contributed 12 points, five rebounds, an assist and two steals. Idaysia Mercer also scored 12 points and added four rebounds and six assists.

Taylor Smith finished with eight points, nine rebounds and an assist. Zamyra Goode provided a strong all-around effort with five points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals, while Chloe Wynn added five points, two rebounds and a steal. Bailey Tetro and Hannah Tetro chipped in three points apiece, combining for four assists and four steals.

With the win, Wallace State remains unbeaten at 10-0 and continues to build momentum as one of the top teams in NJCAA Division I women's basketball.
