Wallace State Diagnostic Imaging Program Celebrates Graduates

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Wallace State Community College’s Diagnostic Imaging program celebrated the success of nearly 40 students during its pinning ceremony for the class of 2025.

Program Director Kelli Rich congratulated the students, reminding them of all they’ve learned in their four semesters in the program and encouraging them to be the best they can be to continue learning.

“You didn't just learn to operate machines; you learned to care for others and show compassion,” she said. “You learned that behind every image is a person, a story, and a family hoping for answers. Your journey has prepared you to be compassionate, precise, and resilient guardians of health, finding clarity so that healing might begin. 

“As you step into your careers, be the tech who makes a nervous patient feel at ease, the colleague who shares knowledge, and the professional who never stops learning.”

Awards were presented to graduates Erin Collier and Loren Sockwell. Collier, of Decatur, received the Academic Excellence Award and Sockwell, of Florence, received the Clinical Excellence Award.

The Diagnostic Imaging program offers pathways in Diagnostic Imaging and Radiation Therapy. With completion of prerequisites, both pathways can be completed in four semesters.
