Kenya Relief - Service Learning/Global Health Outreach
Wallace State is committed to sending a team of students to Kenya for an International
Service Learning/Global Outreach Educational Project. Each year a project area is
identified in consultation with Kenya Relief founder and WSCC nursing alumnus Steve
James, and a team is selected from a Wallace State program or project area. Early
teams included dental hygienist students, who assisted with a dental clinic, and physical
therapist assistant students, who participated in a PET (personal energy transportation)
cart distribution. A nursing student team went in 2019.
