Career Services
At Wallace State, we’re committed to helping students succeed beyond the classroom. Whether you're exploring career options, preparing to enter the workforce, or looking to gain real-world experience while you learn, our Career Services and Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities are here to support you every step of the way. We also value our local business and industry and work diligently to bridge the gap between students and the workforce.
Career Services:
Whether you're a current WSCC student, or recent WSCC graduate, our Career Services team is ready to help you prepare for your career journey with resources like:
- Cover Letter and Resume Building
- Interview Preparation
- Career Coaching
- “Dream. Plan. Do.” Career Readiness Sessions – Our Career Services team wants to help your students be career ready through learning the importance of work-based learning, employability skills, professional resumes, and interviewing skills. Enter three potential dates for our team to visit your WSCC program and give a presentation. In addition to the presentation, you may choose to have your students complete a resume review and mock interview for a grade. We cannot wait to connect with you and your students!
- Career Treks – Have you ever wanted to visit a local business or company to learn more about what
they do? We offer “field trips” for WSCC students throughout the year to explore local
industry.
- Upcoming Career Treks (TBA)
If you are an employer interested in connecting with WSCC students, here are some opportunities to consider:
- “Industry Comes to Wallace State” – Monthly event where employers visit campus to present directly to students in specific programs. Students will have a chance to network, ask questions, and learn more about current job openings in your field. As an employer, you can network with WSCC students and showcase your company!
- Career Fairs – Wallace State hosts two major campus-wide career fairs each spring — the Health Science Career Fair and the Campus Career Fair. These events bring together employers and students from across multiple disciplines, creating opportunities for recruitment, networking, workforce development, and employer branding. Employers can participate as vendors or sponsors and connect with a broad pool of qualified students and graduates.
If you are a K-12 Career Coach, Counselor, or Faculty Member, our Career Services team is here to support you and your students as well!
- “Find Your Fire” Career Readiness Sessions – Designed for middle or high school students, these sessions help students explore their passions and discover career pathways available through Wallace State programs. Students also learn about employability skills, employer expectation, resumes, interviewing, and work-based learning.
