Wallace State Theatre to Present PUFFS Nov. 7-9

Hanceville, Ala. — Wallace State Community College’s Theatre program announces its upcoming production of PUFFS Nov. 7-9 at the Betty Leeth Haynes Theatre in the Garlan E. Gudger Student Center.
Described as hilarious and heartwarming, PUFFS tells the story of a group of magical students who aren’t exactly heroes. The parody-filled adventure follows the trip of unlikely friends as they navigate seven increasingly dangerous years at a certain wizarding school. Packed with laughs, surprises, and plenty of magical mishaps, Puffs is a refreshing, laugh-out-loud journey perfect for fans of all things wizardly!
The cast includes James Knear as the narrator, Reggie Warren as Wayne Hopkings, Trae Barker as Oliver Rivers, and Bella Baker as Megan Jones. Other cast members include Jay Lee as Cedric/Mr. Voldy; Em Sharp as Hannah, Fat Friar and Xavia; ReAnna Rusk as Leanne, Helga, Ginny and Frenchy; Ella Gibbs as Susie Bones, Harry, Ric Gryff and Myrtle; Ariel Jacobs as Sally Perks, Rowena, Bippy, Rita and Blondo; Kaleb Edwards as Ernie Mack, Sal, Tall Man and Second Headmaster; Slade Turbyfield as J. Finch Fletchley, Victor and Mr. Bagman; Brooke Cochran as Zach Smith; Halen Talley as First Headmaster, Prof. McG, Prof. Sprouty, Mrs. Babble and Runes Teacher; and Andy Jones as Uncle Dave, Potions Teacher, Prof. Locky, Prof. Turban, Ghost Teacher, Real Mr. Moody and Mr. Nick.
The Pep Band is made up of Julian Skinner, who also portrays Seamus Finnigan; Eli Baird who will portray Anthony Goldstein and Cade Reid, who will fill the roles of Goyle, Clumsy Longbottom and Scorpy.
Crew members include director Angela Green; assistant director Alliana Chenault; stage manager Brooke Cochran; costuming by Trae Barker, props design by Rebekah Clay, Chenault and Green; and the props/backstage crew of Colter Drake, Jake Myers, Dixie Ledlow, Zander Veal, Alexander Shelden and Vella Richter.
Other crew members include technical director Wes Clabo, set design Mark Eccleston, scenic artist Lana Gibson, poster design and social media Alliana Chenault, lighting design Aaron Johnson, sound design Wes Clabo and Theodore Pirkle, follow spot Jacob Waldrop and ushers Hollie Salter and Illora Goodwin.

Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic is a 2015 original comedy play by NYC-based playwright Matt Cox. The play is a loving parody of the Harry Potter book series by J.K Rowling, from the perspective of the "Puffs": that is, members of the Hufflepuffs house from Hogwarts. Puffs had a successful Off-Broadway run at New World Stages in NYC in 2016. It was nominated for the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for 'Best Unique Theatrical Experience' in 2017.
PUFFS will be staged on Nov. 7 and Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. and on Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. Admission is a $10 donation for adults and $5 for students and children under 12.
