New Sights, New Sites @ WSCC in '23

Wallace State’s "300 acres of awesome" just keeps getting better. From the grand opening of high-tech career education centers to re-naming ceremonies for campus icons, we looked toward the future while honoring the past in 2023.

Wallace State Centers for Welding and Innovation

A Hub for Hot Careers

It’s official: Wallace State Community College is the largest welding school in the southeast, thanks to the new, $8.8 million Center for Welding Technology and Innovation. The game-changing facility, which opened its doors in August, features dozens of welding stations, virtual welding simulators, robotic welding systems, and state-of-the-art technology for grinding, plasma CNC, and more. Share the spark!

Katie Simon, Sebastian Gamez and Lexi Luders were all recently named Athletes of the Week by the Alabama Community College Conference.

Pride of Champions

Wallace State’s winning tradition roared on, with seven ACCC titles, 80+ student-athletes on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll, and nationally ranked teams in golf, tennis, cross country and softball. Go Lions!

Wallace State and Athens State University

Road to Athens

The ink is dry on a much-anticipated Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), connecting Wallace State students more easily to programs at Athens State University. The agreement removes traditional transfer barriers by allowing students to apply prior learning to full-credit degrees at Athens State. One Door. Any Destiny.

Wallace State earns Beautification Award

Wallace State’s Hanceville Campus was honored to receive a Beautification Award in 2023 by Cullman County PALS.

Wallace State Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate degrees. Wallace State Community College also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.
