On-Campus ACT Testing
National ACT and On-Campus ACT Updates
The National ACT has recently been updated to a shorter format with fewer questions. The Science section is now optional.
As a result, Science will be optional for applicants to Wallace State Community College (WSCC) health programs. Applicants should carefully review the admission requirements for their specific program and contact WSCC with questions about testing requirements or test preparation.
On-Campus ACT Format
Beginning with the December 2026 test On-Campus ACT, the test will consist of:
- English
- Math
- Reading
The On-Campus ACT will not change to the shorter format until the December 2027 test.

Imporant: Students must arrive on time, bring an unexpired government-issued photo ID, and pay the testing fee before the test date. Late arrivals will not be admitted.
Only students who have completed a Wallace State application for admission may register for the On-Campus Residual ACT.
The On-Campus ACT is intended for:
- Placement purposes at WSCC
- Entrance into applicable WSCC health programs
- Use at other Alabama Community College System member institutions that participate in the On-Campus Testing Program
The On-Campus ACT cannot be transferred to a four-year college or university.
The score also cannot be transferred by transcript or another method to an institution or agency that does not participate in the applicable On-Campus Testing Program.
On-Campus ACT scores are not scored by ACT. Therefore, they are not official transferable ACT scores like scores from the National ACT.
Superscore
National ACT scores and On-Campus ACT scores cannot be combined for superscore purposes.
No Student Reports or High School Reports are generated for the On-Campus ACT.

To register for the WSCC On-Campus ACT, students must:
- Complete a Wallace State application for admission.
- Register for an available On-Campus ACT test date.
- Pay the $87 testing fee before the test date.
- Check their Wallace State student email for final testing information.

The On-Campus ACT testing fee is:
$87 per test
Payment must be received before the test date.
Students will not be permitted to test until payment has been received. Payment cannot be made at check-in.
Pay Online Through myWallaceState
- Log in to your myWallaceState account.
- Open the Account Transactions tile.
- Select Make a Payment.
- On the TouchNet website, select Make Payment.
- Under Additional Items, select the + button to add the ACT test.
- Select Continue at the bottom right.
- Select your payment method.
- Continue until the payment is complete.
Pay in Person
Payment may be made at the Cashier's Office in the Bailey Building.

Testing begins at:
9:00 a.m. sharp
Students should arrive by:
8:30 a.m.
This allows enough time for check-in.
The testing location may be changed if necessary. Registered participants will receive specific testing information by 4:00 p.m. on the Thursday before the test.
Testing information will be sent to the student's Wallace State student email.
Students must:
- Be registered for the test.
- Have an unexpired government-issued photo ID.
- Pay the testing fee before the test date.
- Arrive by the required check-in time.
No Same-Day Registration
Same-day registration is not allowed.
Late arrivals will not be admitted to the testing room.
An unexpired government-issued photo ID is required.
A picture or photocopy of your ID on your phone will not be accepted.
Students without an acceptable photo ID will not be admitted.
Payment
Payment must be completed before test day.
Payment cannot be accepted at check-in.
Students may take the On-Campus ACT once every 60 days.
If you take the On-Campus ACT before the 60-day waiting period has passed:
- The test will not be scored.
- You will not receive a refund.
Please make sure you are eligible before registering.
The On-Campus ACT consists of:

The On-Campus ACT does not include:
- Science
- Writing
The test is approximately 4 hours long.
Students may bring a drink with a lid and food to campus.
Food is not permitted inside the testing rooms.
Vending machines will be available.
The following items are prohibited while testing:
- Cell phonesBluetooth devices
- Digital watches
- Alarm watches
- Calculator watches
- Smartwatches
- Non-approved calculators
- Photographic or copying devices
- Listening or recording devices
- Media players
- Headphones or earbuds
- Sunglasses
The following are also not permitted in the testing area:
- Unattended children
- Visitors

On-Campus ACT test results are posted to the student's myWallaceState account within two weeks after the test date.
To view your scores:
- Log in to myWallaceState.
- Open the Student Portal tile.
- Select Open Student Dashboard.
- Select Student Profile.
- On the right side of the screen, select Testing.
- Your testing scores will appear in the Testing section.
National ACT Scores
Students who have taken the National ACT can have their scores or superscore sent to Wallace State through ACT.

Visit ACT.org to send your National ACT scores to WSCC.
Admissions will enter National ACT scores as soon as possible after they are received.
National ACT scores can be viewed through your myWallaceState account:
- Open the Student Portal tile.
- Select Open Student Dashboard.]

- View your scores under the Testing section.
