Purpose

To provide student with necessary college entrance requirements and to help determine placement in math and English. 


On Campus ACT Information

  • Only students who have completed a Wallace State application for admission can register to take the On-Campus Residual ACT test.
  • This test will not transfer to a four-year school.  This test is meant for placement purposes or entrance into WSCC health programs.  This test can be transferred to other Alabama Community College System member institutions that use the On-Campus Testing Program and cannot be transferred by transcript or other means to any other institution or agency.
  • No Student Reports and no High School reports are generated.
  • ACT On-Campus scores are not scored by ACT and, therefore are not official transferable scores like those provided by the ACT National Test.
  • The test is approximately 4 hours long. 

            Test 1- 45 minutes

            Test 2- 60 minutes

            Break- 15 minutes

            Test 3- 35 minutes

            Test 4-35 minutes

  • The On-Campus ACT consists of English, math, science and reading.
  • The On-Campus ACT is given in the School of Nursing and Center for Science building. A campus map can be found HERE and directions to campus can be found HERE. The exact testing room will be emailed to registered participants on the Thursday before the test by 4 pm. The email is sent to your Wallace State student email.

Important:  Same day registration will not be allowed. Late arrivals will not be admitted to the testing room. Those without an unexpired governmental photo ID or those not on the test day roster WILL NOT be admitted to the testing room.  You must have your unexpired governmental photo ID with you. A picture on your phone WILL NOT be accepted. Students will not be permitted to take the test until payment has been received. Please pay for the test before the test date. Payment cannot be received at check-in.

You will receive an email with testing information on the Thursday by 4 pm before the test date.

Dates may be subject to change prior to registration opening or cancellation due to inclement weather and/or unanticipated guidelines that require closure of all or specific college operations.  If cancellation occurs, every effort will be made to reschedule the affected test date(s) or a refund will be issued.

How do I register for the WSCC On-Campus ACT?

  • Pay test fee online via myWallaceState or at the Cashier’s office by check, cash or card. Call 256-352-8141 for more information.

How much does the test cost?

  • The testing fee is $82 for the 2024 year.

How do I pay for it?

  • On your myWallacestate account.
    • Click on the Student tab
    • Choose Student Services
    • Click Payment Make a Payment, Deposit, and Payment Plan
    • Click on Make Payment and look for ACT under Additional Items
  • In-person at the Cashier’s office in the Bailey Building.

When is payment due?

  • Students will not be permitted to take the test until payment has been received. Please pay for the test before the test date. Payment can not be received at check-in.

Testing Requirements

Upon arrival for testing, test registrants must have the following:

  • Unexpired government issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license (will not accept photocopy, reproduction, or picture on cell phone)
  • WSCC student number (A#)
  • ACT approved calculator. Check your calculator here.
  • Number 2 pencil

The following items are prohibited while testing:

  • Cell phones or Bluetooth devices
  • Digital, alarm or calculator watches
  • Wristwatch smartphones
  • Non-approved calculators
  • Photographic or copying devices
  • Listening or recording devices, such as media players with headphones/earbuds
  • Sunglasses
  • Unattended children
  • Visitors

On-Campus (Residual) ACT Superscore

  • To have your On-Campus (Residual) tests superscored, please complete this form.  Email the completed form to oncampusact@wallacestate.edu , please allow 48 business hours to process.  
  • Your Superscore is made up from your best On-Campus/Residual test individual scores to create the best overall composite score.
  • Scores from September 2016 and later are valid to be superscored.

How often can I take the On-Campus ACT?

  • Students are permitted to take the On-Campus ACT once in a 60-day period.

What time does it start?

  • Testing will begin at 8:30 AM. Plan to arrive at 8:00 AM.

Can I bring a drink and/or food?

  • You can bring a drink with a lid and food. Food will not be allowed in the testing rooms.
  • Vending machines will be available.

Do you offer the writing portion of the ACT?

  • No, the writing portion is not given. The On-Campus ACT consists of English, math, science and reading.

When can I expect to receive my On-Campus ACT scores?

  • Test results are posted to your myWallaceState account within two weeks after the test date.

How can I view my On-Campus ACT scores?

Example:
Username: A012345678@wallacestate.edu (your A student number)
Password: !ACCS012599 = January 22, 1999 (!ACCS + your six digit date of birth)
